16-year-old injured in crash

A 16-year-old Placerville girl suffered major head injuries Thursday evening after the car she was riding in overturned near Banner Quaker Hill Road.

The 16-year-old was one of two passengers in a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old male, the CHP reported.

Due to alcohol intoxication, the 17-year-old allowed the Jeep to overturn and leave the roadway.

Both parties were taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. The 16-year-old girl was admitted with major head injuries, while the driver was admitted with minor injuries. A second 17-year-old male, a passenger in the vehicle, was not injured.
