DIAMOND SPRINGS - A spokesman for the state Department of Fish and Game recommended residents take measures to bear-proof their El Dorado County neighborhood where an adult bear was seen Thursday night.
John Alexander, who lives on Cannon Court near Patterson Drive and Pleasant Valley Road, said he spotted the bear nosing around garbage cans - marking the first time he had seen a bear in the neighborhood in the 25 years he has lived there.
