Black Oak Mine Unified School District Gets Funding

The Black Oak Mine Unified School District in El Dorado County announced that it has received $6.9 million from the sale of Measure G general obligation bonds. The funds will be used for the renovation and construction of school facilities resulting from the passage of Measure G last November.

Along with the Measure G bond proceeds, the district will use an additional $5 million of state funding for construction programs at Golden Sierra High, Northside, Georgetown and Creekside schools.

The first projects are expected to break ground next summer.

District officials said that because of the bonds sale results and higher than projected assessed value growth for 2006-07 and 2007-08, the current projected average tax levy for Measure G is $22.49 per $100,000 of assessed value, 24 percent less than the pre- election projected average.
