Four people were injured and westbound Highway 50 at Placerville was closed for about an hour today after a tour bus carrying 35 school age children and their chaperons from the United Kingdom collided with other vehicles at the Bedford Street intersection.
No one on the bus was injured. Four people from the other vehicles in the crash were transported to various hospitals -- including one accident victim who was flown by helicopter to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, said Capt. Mike Scott, Placerville Police Department spokesman.
"All those injuries were described to me as moderate," Scott said.
