A car burglar made quick use of a debit card stolen out of a car in the parking lot of Church of the Foothills on Merrychase Drive, El Dorado Hills.
The incident started about 9:30 a.m. Dec. 2 while a woman attended church services. She returned to her car about 10:15 a.m. to find that it had been burglarized.
She later learned that by 10 a.m. someone had used the card to make a $211 purchase at a Cameron Park supermarket.
A car burglar also broke into a car parked outside the Regal Cinema movie theater complex in El Dorado Town Center about 10 p.m. Nov. 30.
Security personnel spotted the window smashed out of the 1993 Honda Accord. Its owner said her losses included a $400 cell phone and a wallet with about $160 in cash.
