On Nov. 8, 2006, Pino was arrested at the Cameron Park Ace Hardware he owns on six felony charges stemming from accusations the child, now a teenager, made against him.
Charges against Barry Pino, a Folsom man arrested for allegedly committing lewd acts with a child, have been dismissed, according to court records made available on Monday.
Following about a year and a half of legal proceedings, the jury on the case deadlocked 10-2 in favor of acquittal on Feb. 29, court records show. On March 13, the charges against Pino were formally dismissed.
Authorities said 54-year-old Barry Pino was arrested by Folsom police at his place of employment in El Dorado County.
Investigators said the alleged victim is a girl who was left in Pino's care on several occasions, and that the alleged molestations happened over an eight-year period beginning when the girl was 11 years old.
Police have arrested a Folsom man on accusations of long-term sexual abuse of a girl who lived in his home.
Barry Pino, 54, has been booked into El Dorado County Jail on four counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18. Pino was arrested at his work place Tuesday in El Dorado County.
Since his arrest, Pino has been an opponent of the proposed Home
Depot. "I'm extremely not happy with it," said Barry Pino, owner of the 29-year-old Cameron Park Ace Hardware store around the corner from the proposed Home Depot.
