Denham & Varozza Arrested Re: Mosquito Bridge Death

El Dorado County sheriff's investigators said they have arrested a homeless man, Nicholas James Denham, 27, on suspicion of murder in the death of Gerald Cody Ludden, 33, of Placerville.

Update

Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Nicholas Denham and Christine Varozza in connection with the death of Gerald Ludden on June 10, 2008. The investigation is still ongoing.

Nicholas Denham (27 yrs.) was charged with murder and being held without bail. Christine Varozza (55 yrs.) was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and is
also being held without bail.

6-18-2008, the body which was discovered below the Mosquito Bridge last Tuesday has been identified as Gerald Cody Ludden of Placerville. Gerald was 33 years of age. The manner of his death is still currently under investigation.

Mosquito Bridge Death
On June 10, 2008, at 3:00 pm, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department along with fire personnel responded to a possible drowning at the Mosquito Bridge north of Placerville. Upon arrival, Deputies and Fire personnel discover a body below the bridge. It has been determined this is not a drowning. The El Dorado County  Sheriff's Department is currently investigating this incident. The body is a white male adult in his thirties. At this time the identity of the body is unknown.
