The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department announced that victims of the South Lake Tahoe fire may meet with representatives of various government agencies to report their losses and seek help in recovering from damages.
A disaster center has been set up in the South Lake Tahoe Community College cafeteria and will continue operations from
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday.
Participating agencies include the Red Cross, disaster assistance programs and county building permits.
Reporting property and economic losses will aid the county in its application for a presidential declaration that could provide additional Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance programs for individuals and businesses, according to a news release.
