16-year-old Michael Manes, a Ponderosa High School student whose residence in an apartment complex in El Dorado Hills has notdeterred him from raising 900-pound Garth, an Angus- Hereford steer that he hopes to sell at the El Dorado County Fair in June.
Michael, who has four sisters and two brothers, lives with his sister in an apartment, and keeps Garth at the school’s pens.
