Trisha Lynn Watson, 21, of Cameron Park died about 1:45 a.m., when the eastbound car in which she was a passenger veered off the road and hit several trees about a mile east of Folsom Boulevard before stopping on a dirt embankment, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Adam Mellow, 22, of El Dorado Hills, and passenger Jennifer Loeffler, 23, of Placerville suffered moderate injuries, CHP Officer Jasper Begay said.
Another passenger, Michael Saydoff, 26, of El Dorado Hills sustained major injuries. The California Highway Patrol said drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
