A former South Lake Tahoe elementary school teacher was arraigned Tuesday in
El Dorado County Superior Court for allegedly molesting a child.
Karsten Gronwold, 51, faces a single felony count for an alleged lewd act on a child under 14 years of age, according to court documents. Under California law, conviction on this charge carries a maximum penalty of eight years in state prison.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Thursday.
In February, Gronwold was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography.
