Situated within the City limits of Placerville is an historic 61 acre park – Hangtown’s Gold Bug Park & Mine, located one mile off Highway 50, north on Bedford Avenue Once dotted with over 250 mines, the main attraction is now the Gold Bug mine. The park is being developed as an historical site. Attractions such as the Joshua Hendy Stamp Mill and the Hattie Museum and Gift Shop show historical exhibits of mining equipment and other artifacts. Over two miles of hiking trails and picnic areas add to our visitor’s pleasure.
