Golden Star Student Program was a success

The purpose of this letter is to express appreciation to the many generous residents of El Dorado County, who contributed toward the success of the Golden Star Student Program at the County Fair.

More than 5,000 students, identified by their respective schools, were given certificates and provided free admissions to the fair. Many students visited the booth sponsored by the El Dorado County Office of Education to pick up prizes provided by generous local businesses.

A special thanks goes to our sponsors: Rapid Solutions Group; Carter-Kelly, Inc.; Law Offices of Girard, Vinson & Trujillo LLP; Cameron Park Optimists, Hangtown Active 20-30 No. 43; Round Table Pizza; Hangtown's Gold Bug Park; Full Life Fellowship; First 5 El Dorado; El Dorado Community Foundation; El Dorado Savings Bank; and Murray & Downs, AIA Architects, Inc.

Also, a big thank-you to all the parents who transported and accompanied children to the fair. Fair manager Jody Gray and the fair board are also to be commended for their assistance in showcasing El Dorado County's Golden Star Students.

Lastly, thanks to school districts and the El Dorado County Office of Education for their support. Many staff members generously donated their time and energy to acknowledge the achievements of our Golden Star Students and to promote public schools.
