The El Dorado County Department of Human Services encourages residents to prepare now for summer heat.
The Family Services Division offers assistance to low-income individuals. One program provides help to make homes more energy efficient and to repair or replace air conditioners or evaporative coolers, according to a department news release.
Another provides assistance once per year to pay for high energy costs, such as a high energy bill during a summer heat wave. For details about the programs and eligibility requirements, call the Department of Human Services at (530) 621-6150.
