County staff recommended the reopening of the Joe's Skate Park and a motion was made by Supervisor Sweeney, seconded by Supervisor Dupray to direct Facilities and Fleet Services to immediately establish a relationship with Tim Fulton and the Green Valley Church group to open the park as soon as possible on a volunteer basis with some County oversight and to work hard to extend volunteerism with other organizations in the community. The motion passed on a 5-0 vote.  The board ordered the skate park closed in May after a 17-year-old boy was severely beaten near the park and the suspects were identified as people who hung around the park.
