So, Jamie created this blog after we met to chronicle our time together. For those of you who don't know our story, it's a fun one. Jamie and I were friends back in high school - he was a senior when I started 10th grade after we moved to Maryland in 1987 and after he graduated we lived a couple of blocks from one another. He says he had a huge crush on me then, but we were both shy an nothing ever came of it. We lost touch after I graduated high school.In fall of 2006, after reminiscing with Rocky about high school and our friends (Jamie was this great musician and artist, and he wrote stories about me and my friend), I decided to search the internet and see if he was still making music/art. It wasn't very hard, google even helped me spell his name right, and several sites referencing him came up. One of them was a music sharing site that had his email. I thought, why not, I'll just say hi.
That was our new beginning - he says that that email was like winning the lottery for him, and that he'd thought of me all through the years. So, we wrote back and forth and talked on the phone for months, and then visited one another, first over the Christmas holiday that winter, and then to California that following March, followed by me to Maryland in May. He swept me off my feet. By June 2007, he had joined me to live in Lotus.
It has been a wonderful blessing, us finding each other again. And now we will celebrate this blessing with all our friends and family on September 19, 2009 by uniting in marriage.
Our wedding is in Lotus, California at the Hansen's home/retreat. I'll post a map and directions soon.
