
Victim Alan Luong said he vividly remembers the night of March 14, when he and his wife were allegedly hit by Morgan, who they say briefly stopped his car about 100 feet away.
"He stopped again and looked at me while I'm screaming out for help. Finally, he just stepped on the gas and took off," Luong said.
Loung's wife Holli suffered a concussion, a broken collarbone and numerous cuts and bruises. "As every day goes by, I just thank God that I'm here," Holli Loung said.
Neighborhood groups in Serrano sent out a flyer with Alan Luong's description of the car. A local body shop spotted the late model BMW and called the Highway Patrol.
"It just shows what community involvement can do to help law enforcement," said El Dorado County District Attorney's Office investigator Bill Dillard, who helped in the nearly two month investigation.
