May is Mental Health Awareness month. The state will make additional funds available to the counties, with El Dorado County eligible for $637,949 in expansion funds. The El Dorado County Mental Health Department, in conjunction with community-based service providers, previously awarded contracts, and the local MHSA Advisory Committee, has prepared a draft of the proposed allocation of these expansion funds which is now available for a 30-day public comment period.
