PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD FOR DRAFT MISSOURI FLAT DESIGN GUIDELINES

Development Services has issued the Draft Missouri Flat Design Guidelines. Staff is requesting public comments on the draft guidelines.  The Planning Commission is scheduled to review the draft guidelines on April 24, 2008, and will be forwarding a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.  To ensure that the Planning Commission will receive your comments, please submit them no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008.

The purpose of the Missouri Flat Design Guidelines is to revitalize the underutilized Missouri Flat Road commercial corridor.  The design guidelines and streetscape improvement standards contained in this document are intended to improve the quality and character of the built environment and create a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere with enhanced public spaces along the corridor.

The Missouri Flat study area boundary includes the parcels directly adjacent to Missouri Flat Road between El Dorado Road and Pleasant Valley Road (Highway 49).  Additional parcels encompassed by the study area include a few residential lots on the hill east of the El Dorado Trail and the area east of Missouri Flat Road between the El Dorado Trail, China Garden, and Highway 49.

DESIGN GUIDELINES

Draft Design Guidelines are available for public review. Hearings are expected to be scheduled before the Planning Commissionis scheduled on April 24, 2008. Copies of the guidelines are also available for review and/or purchase at Planning Services. Comments may be made to Planning, attention Peter Maurer, and should be submitted no later than April 17, 2008 for the Planning Commission to have time to review the comments.
