EL DORADO HILLS -- California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection crews joined several other agencies to fight a wildfire Tuesday afternoon along Salmon Falls Road near Skunk Hollow in El Dorado County.

officials said the fire, which involved about 80 acres north of the American
River, was 20 percent contained Tuesday night. Containment was expected this
morning.
The fire was burning in very steep, brushy terrain near an area that is a popular pullout spot for rafters close to the Salmon Falls Bridge. Conditions were dry, but wind was not a problem. A vehicle fire sparked the blaze about 2 p.m., officials said. Sacbee
