B. Support for Private Landowner Participation
Participation by private landowners with oak woodland resources will be essential to plan success, and will be entirely voluntary. The implementation program for the OWMP will provide opportunities for land owners and developers to participate in the program. The County’s Option B mitigation fee program will provide a source of funding for the County to acquire oak woodland easements, thus providing fiscal benefit to private land owners. The County will work with participating land owners to manage conservation easements to ensure conservation of oak woodland habitats while also allowing compatible land uses.
