Congressman
Doolittle invites you to join him in reaching out to voters in El Dorado County
leading up to November 7th - Election Day.
As you know, we are just days away from the election and the stakes are very
high. While Congressman Doolittle has a 26-year record of cutting taxes and
government spending, securing funding for key transportation and water projects
in El Dorado County, and standing for strong national security.
John's opponent
is a member of the ACLU, supports gay marriage and amnesty for illegal
immigrants, and promised to raise our taxes across the board as his first act if
elected. He has appeared at anti-war rallies with Cindy Sheehan and Sean Penn
while appearing at fundraisers in San Francisco with Willie Brown, Gavin
Newsome, former Bill Clinton aides, and the mayor of Berkeley. Recently, he even
welcomed Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi to local events. It is clear whose
values he shares - not ours.
Congressman Doolittle is facing a challenge from a motivated opposition and we
are taking nothing for granted. That is why we need your help. Please help us
walk precincts on a beautiful fall morning.

Pelosi is dealing dollars to win -- for the House, the party, herself
Edward Epstein, SF Chronicle, Washington BureauWednesday, October 25, 2006
Even more than fighting a contest of ideas with Republicans, Rep. Nancy Pelosi is waging a multimillion-dollar fundraising battle intended to produce a Democratic House majority in the Nov. 7 midterm elections.
As the minority leader, Pelosi is the chief fundraiser for the party's
national campaign effort, a job that has taken on increased importance in a year
when the cost of races in all 435 House districts already has exceeded $700
million. Along with success at the polls, her job has involved making sure that
Democrats in close contests have enough money to compete with Republicans who
traditionally have raised more campaign money.
Pelosi's staff estimates that with just 13 days left until the midterm elections her peripatetic travels and phone calls on behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (the House Democrats' campaign arm), individual candidates and her personal political action committee, "PAC to the Future," have generated about $50 million this campaign season.
The campaign cash helps bind members of the Democratic caucus to her, ensuring that they'll vote in the new Congress to elect her the speaker -- a first for a woman and a Californian -- if Democrats pick up the 15 net seats they need to take back the majority in the House they lost in 1994. Of course, if Democrats fall short on Nov. 7, especially after a campaign in which the party's expectations soared so high, all bets will be off on Pelosi continuing as leader.
Retired Police Officers Request Records on BrownCongressional Candidate Abused City Email System to Protest War
Roseville, Oct 23 - Two
retired City of Roseville police officers who personally worked with
congressional candidate Charlie Brown while he was a records clerk for the
Roseville Police Department have asked the Roseville City Manager to turn over
an email sent by Brown from a city computer that they say disparaged our troops
fighting oversees.
Brown publicly admitted at a fundraiser held in July that he was reprimanded for
his actions and required to undergo counseling.
According to the officers’ letter, Brown sent an email to all City of
Roseville employees regarding a fellow city employee who was returning from
serving a deployment in Iraq. The retired officers described the email as
“politically-inspired” and “disparaging to our troops fighting
oversees.”
“Given Mr. Brown’s statements regarding ethics in government and the
need to support our troops, we feel it is important for the public to have
access to these communications made during a time in which Mr. Brown clearly
abused the public’s trust,” said former Roseville police officers Steve
Uribe and Frank Ortiz in their letter.
Uribe and Ortiz asked for the release of all records related to the incident
under the California Public Records Act which requires public entities like the
City of Roseville to respond within ten days.
“This is a pattern with Charlie Brown,” said Congressman John Doolittle.
“He demeaned our troops when he was the keynote speaker at an anti-war rally
with Cindy Sheehan and Sean Penn. He demeaned our troops by joining the ACLU
which has defended terrorists. Now, we learn that he has demeaned our troops
once again by using a city computer to promote his liberal political agenda.”
