Update:
Two homes have been destroyed in fires
that spread after burning debris was left unattended in El Dorado and Tuolumne
counties. ... A second home was destroyed by a fire that covered 10 to 15 acres
in El Dorado County ... Berlant says in both cases the fires spread Friday when
people burning grass, pine needles or other debris left those fires unattended.
The fire in the El Dorado County town of Rescue and spread to 10 to 15 acres, is also linked to a careless debris pile fire.
"The winds picked up and one of the fires was unattended and didn't have the proper 10-foot clearance around it," Berlant said. "These two fires are two of many over the last couple of weeks. People are burning debris, but they are not doing it safely."

A 15-acre fire near the town of Rescue in El Dorado County has effectively been extinguished, sheriff's officials said.
Department spokesman Sgt. Bryan Golmitz said all evacuation orders have been lifted and fire crews were beginning the mop up
phase about 8 pm.
The fire started about 5 p.m. near Lakeview Drive and Hillock Road, Cal Fire spokesman Daniel Berlant said. The fire is burning areas of heavy brush and has destroyed one structure, he said.
Golmitz said the house that burned was on Pleasant Ranch Road. Sheriff's officials had made evacuations on Pleasant Ranch Road, Lakeview Drive and Saddleback Drive, he said.
Deputies also had closed Springvale Road between Lotus and Luneman Roads, Golmitz said.
A reverse 911 call notified about 100 residents of the evacuations, Golmitz said.
A shelter was set up about 6:30 p.m. at Gold Trail Elementary School, 889 Cold Springs Road, near Placerville, he said. Animal control also has been notified to deal with livestock that may be affected by the fire, Golmitz said.
Cal Fire and local fire departments, including an inmate crew, battled the blaze, Berlant said.
