Robber hits BofA branch in El Dorado Hills

El Dorado County authorities are searching for the man who robbed a Bank of America in El Dorado Hills of an undisclosed about of money Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect reportedly pulled off the crime without using a note or threat of a weapon, both common in bank robberies. Bank staff are trained to comply with the orders of robbers so as not to potentially endanger others in the building.

The heist occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the 3901 Park Drive branch, where a pudgy male waited in line until a teller window opened. According to bank staff, the suspect told the male teller he wanted money; and walked out after receiving an undisclosed amount. No one in the bank was injured during the robbery.

Bank surveillance video captured images of the suspect, who is heavyset and appears to have a goatee. The suspect is officially described as a 6-foot white male, 240 pounds, unshaven and approximately 40 years of age. He was wearing a heavy blue jacket and blue hat. The suspect has a blue tattoo on the left side of his neck, described as possibly depicting flames. The suspect's voice was described as scratchy or raspy.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office at (530) 621-6600.
