Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's head men's golf coach Scott Hardy announced that three players have signed to play for the Gaels beginning with the 2007-08 season. The players that will be attending SMC beginning in 2008 are Tim Honeycutt (Placerville, CA), Brian O'Regan (Walnut Creek, CA), and Euan Brown (Troon, Scotland)

"Signing these three talented players in the early signing period is great for our program," said Hardy. "We are excited about their opportunities at Saint Mary's and look for them to help us continue to build a top ranked collegiate golf program. This class has the potential to make an immediate impact for our team."

Tim Honeycutt comes to Saint Mary's from Union Mine High School where he was a three-time letter winner in golf. Honeycutt has an impressive junior resume, as he advanced to the round of 16 at the United States Junior Championship in 2007. He also posted a second place finish at the FCWT San Ramon open and was a third place finisher at the FCWT Hunter Ranch invitational in 2007. Honeycutt also made a run to the quarterfinals of the 2007 California State Amateur.

Hardy's thoughts about Tim Honeycutt: "Tim is a top junior player that has had tremendous success on the state and national level. He has a strong well-rounded game and competes well under pressure. Tim has all the tools and desire to be an NCAA standout and immediate impact player."

Brian O'Regan will come to Saint Mary's from De La Sale High School in Concord, CA, as a two-time All-BVAL selection. He had a medalist finish at the Sacramento County Junior in 2007, and that same year, posted a second place finish at the FCWT Cimarron Classic. In the 2007 AJGA Nor Cal Classic he posted a seventh place finish against a strong field at Ruby Hill Country Club.

Hardy's thoughts about Brian O'Regan: "Brian is a talented and experienced player. He has great potential and a strong junior resume. We expect Brian to come in and be an instant leader and contributor to our team."

Euan Brown comes to SMC from Scotland where he was a top junior player in the United Kingdom. In 40 rounds in 2007, Brown shot par or better 24 times. In 2007, Brown was the Ayrshire Boys Stroke Play Champion, was the boys Champion of Champions for Ayrshire, and was the Order of Merit winner. Brown also advanced to the fourth round of the 2007 Scottish Amateur Championship. Brown is the Head Boy of Marr College in Troon, which is not only an honor, but also an accolade that carries a lot of responsibility within UK schools.

Hardy's thoughts about Euan Brown "Euan has emerged as one of the top recruits in the UK. He has a strong short game and the ability to control his ball. Euan will add instant depth and brings a very strong work ethic."
