Shawn Hunter, EDH, Arrested for Stealing Ducati Motorcycle

A Ducati motorcycle valued at $15,000 to $20,000 has been recovered by El Dorado County Sheriff's investigators after an alleged burglary at a home in the 3800 block of Silkwood Place just west of Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills.

August 25, 2008 El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 3800 block of Silkwood Place in El Dorado Hills for a residential burglary. The victim reported that sometime during the night his garage had been broken into. The suspect had stolen aDucati motorcycle, related motorcycle apparel and some electronic devices. The victim believed that a neighbor was possibly responsible for the theft.

Deputies contacted the suspected neighbor (Shawn Hunter, 31 yrs.) at his residence on Falkirk Way in El Dorado Hills. Deputies conducted their investigation and located a stolen item from the victim’s garage. Deputies arrested Shawn Hunter for possession of stolen property and burglary.

Sheriff Detectives Kevin Pebley and Rich Horn continued the investigation due to the still outstanding motorcycle and related property. A search warrant was obtained and served at Hunter’s residence in El Dorado Hills. During the search more stolen property was located and information was developed on the possible whereabouts of the motorcycle. Detectives followed those leads to a residence in Folsom and located the Ducati motorcycle and other related items, which were returned to the owner.

Hunter remains in El Dorado County Jail on charges of suspicion of first-degree burglary and receiving stolen property. A vehicle theft charge is pending but has not yet been filed. Bail for the two felony theft counts has been set at $275,000 each.
