GEORGETOWN -- Students at three local schools were sent home early Tuesday due to a water main break.
Children at Creekside Elementary, Georgetown Elementary and Community Day School were sent home on buses at 11:40 a.m., said Sherre Garcia, secretary to the superintendent of Black Oak Mine Unified School District.

The water main in downtown Georgetown burst earlier in the morning.
School district officials were notified about 8:30 a.m., Garcia said.
The water main was repaired by noon, said Hank White, general manager of Georgetown Divide Utility District.
Students were sent home because water to the schools was turned off, resulting in no bathroom facilities and no water to prepare school lunches, Garcia said.
School will be back in session this morning.
